First Focus Group
We have conducted a focus group midway through editing our production in order to gain an idea of improvements with relation to our target audience's opinions.
We found:
1. The colour corrections to red were too far apart, and so our audience didn't always understand the narrative. We have changed this by introducing more cuts to red which builds on the creepy feel of the film overall.
2. The scene we had included at the end of our film was of the protagonist walking across a typical school setting. We had come up with this idea because we wanted to lull the audience into a false sense of security by making them think that everything had returned back to normal, when in actual fact it hadn't. Our focus group mentioned that this clip made the narrative difficult to follow and they didn't understand its purpose. For this reason we decided to cut it.
3. At times the sound was quite jumpy which distorted the overall feel of the film. We managed to fix this technical hitch, thus erasing the poor quality of the backing track.
